Our team worked with Rivalz to build a sports community platform that helps people organize offline sports activities and find other players with a similar skill level.
We started with a Discovery Stage to validate the idea, conduct user research, and define the scope of the MVP. Through interviews with users and stakeholders, we identified the features that were most important for the first version of the product and aligned them with the available budget and timeline.
Based on these insights, we designed a gamified user experience, developed the iOS and Android apps, and a web platform.
The app helps users create or join games, invite friends, chat with other players, book sports facilities, and split the booking cost.
To launch faster, we focused on the core features and postponed less important ideas, such as tournaments and advanced chat functions. This helped the client release a scalable MVP, attract early users, and create a strong foundation for future growth.

The client had a vision for a sports community platform but needed to confirm that the concept addressed a real user need. Before investing in development, it was important to understand how people currently organize sports activities and whether they would adopt a platform built around competitive play.
Solution
We started with a Discovery Stage to validate the concept and gather both user and business insights. Our team interviewed potential users to learn how they find players, organize games, and book sports facilities, while workshops with the client helped clarify business goals and priorities. Based on this research, we prepared a product roadmap, giving the project a clear strategic foundation before development began.
A core product goal was to motivate users to compete with players who matched their skill level. The challenge was to design an experience that would make organizing sports games more engaging and encourage users to return to the platform.
Solution
We created and tested several interactive prototypes before moving into development. Based on the results, our design team developed a game-like interface with animations and social features that emphasized competition and player interaction. This prototyping process helped us validate the user experience early and make design improvements before the product was built.
The client had many feature ideas, but including all of them in the first release would have increased development costs and delayed launch. The challenge was to identify which capabilities were essential for validating the product and attracting early users.
Solution
We focused the MVP on the core features and deferred lower-priority functionality, such as tournaments, online status, and advanced chat capabilities. The initial release supported four sports: football, basketball, tennis, and cricket. This approach allowed the client to launch on schedule, stay within budget, and begin attracting active users early on.
Users can create public or private games by selecting the sport, number of players, location, and start and end times. They can also invite friends and manage all game details in one place.

Players can browse nearby games by sport, time, and location, making it easy to find and join activities that fit their schedule.

Rivalz helps users connect with nearby players of a similar skill level, creating more balanced and competitive matches.
