Sprent is a delivery app that helps people buy what they need from stores in their city and get it fast. Customers could order meals, groceries, pharmacy items, and other daily essentials through the app in Riyadh and Jeddah.

When the team reached out to Uptech, the product was already live on iOS and Android. Users liked the idea, but the experience needed work. Crashes happened too often, and that was hard to ignore in a delivery app where people expect everything to work quickly.

Sprent also had a clear plan for what should come next. They wanted easier payments, better order tracking, direct chat with couriers, and stronger internal tools for the team behind the service. To get there, they needed engineers who could work with the current product instead of starting from zero.

After speaking with several vendors in Eastern Europe, Sprent chose Uptech. We joined the existing project, cleaned up problem areas in the apps, improved stability, and helped the product run more smoothly. We also expanded the app’s functionality across mobile, backend, and web, giving the client a stronger base for growth.

Challenges and Solutions

Frequent App Crashes

Sprent already had users on both iOS and Android, but the apps crashed too often. For a delivery service, that quickly becomes a real problem. People place orders when they need something now, not later.

Solution

We started with a technical audit of the existing apps to understand where the main risks were. After that, we prioritized weak areas, prepared an improvement plan, and rolled out fixes that raised stability above 97% on iOS and Android. 

Hard to Release New Updates

The client wanted to improve the product, but new releases were not easy to push forward. When old issues pile up, even simple changes can take more time than they should.

Solution

We reviewed the existing codebase, refactored areas that slowed product work, and improved overall maintainability. With a cleaner technical foundation and a clearer delivery process, the team could release new features faster and with fewer delays. 

Limited Checkout Options

Many users expect to pay by card when they order through an app. Without that option, some customers left at checkout or chose other services that offered a more convenient payment experience.

Solution

We added the HyperPay integration to support secure card payments inside the app. Thanks to this, the checkout flow became easier, and users had more freedom in how they paid.

Main features

Order From Any Local Store

People may forget to buy milk, run out of medicine, or leave papers at work. Sprent gives users a quick way to order what they need and get it delivered, instead of dropping everything and going themselves.

Restaurant Discovery

Sometimes people know what they want. Sometimes they scroll for ten minutes first. The app lets users look through nearby restaurants, check menus, compare options, and order when something finally looks worth it.

Live Order Tracking

Once the order is confirmed, users can open the map and see where the courier is. That simple feature saves a lot of “Where is my order?” moments and makes waiting easier.

In-App Courier Chat

Deliveries often come with questions. Wrong gate, no elevator, missing sauce, hard address to find. Users can message the courier in the app and sort small issues before they become delays.
