Horizon came to Uptech with an idea for a service app in Iraq. The concept was simple: help people quickly find reliable specialists for home and business tasks without relying only on personal contacts or offline search.

The challenge was that this market was still early. Similar products had struggled, and it was not clear what users would trust, what services they would actually order, or how the platform should work in daily life.

We began with Discovery. We studied the local market, reviewed existing competitors, spoke with potential users, and tested the first assumptions with real feedback. This gave the founders a much clearer picture of customer expectations and common pain points.

Based on that work, we shaped the first MVP scope, prepared wireframes, and outlined a go-to-market plan. Horizon moved forward with a stronger product idea and fewer costly guesses.

Challenges and Solutions

User trust and expectations

Ordering services from someone unknown can feel risky. Users needed to know who was coming, how much it would cost, and what would happen if problems appeared.

Solution

We gathered direct feedback from users and turned it into practical ideas such as clear profiles, ratings, upfront prices, and simple in-app communication.

Too many first-version ideas

The early concept included a wide list of features. Building all of them first would slow the launch, raise costs, and make the product harder to test.

Solution

We separated must-have features from nice-to-have ones and shaped an MVP focused on the main user flow: request, accept, chat, and complete the job.

Need for quick decisions

The founders needed answers fast before investing more money into full development. They could not afford months of guessing and internal debates.

Solution

We ran a focused Discovery process with quick research cycles, regular checkpoints, and clear recommendations the team could act on immediately.

Product launch preparation

A good app alone does not bring users. Horizon also needed a realistic plan for how to enter the market and gain early traction.

Solution

We prepared a launch roadmap with audience priorities, feature rollout steps, and practical next moves for the first stage of growth.

Main features

Easy registration

Users can sign up with a phone number and get started quickly. The flow was kept simple to reduce drop-off and make first-time use feel familiar.

Fast order creation

Customers choose a service, add details, and send a request in a few steps. This removes the usual back-and-forth that happens in chats or calls.

Real-time chat

Once a provider accepts the request, both sides can chat inside the app. They can discuss timing, ask questions, share photos, or send location details.

Order status updates

Users receive notifications when an order is accepted, updated, or completed. They do not need to keep checking the app for news.

Reviews after completion

After the job is done, customers can leave feedback about the provider. Reviews help build trust and guide future users.

Order history

Previous requests stay available in one place. Users can review past orders, repeat services faster, or track earlier activity when needed.
