Improving a working prototype through product evaluation and UX redesign

Anytime already had a working prototype, but the overall user experience did not meet expectations. The iOS and macOS apps included incomplete functionality and UI/UX issues. The goal was to improve the scheduling flow and add new features without rewriting the entire application.

Solution

Our team began with a heuristic evaluation to identify what was working and what was missing in the product. To better understand user needs, we conducted general and feature-specific user interviews, created proto personas, and developed user story maps.

We also mapped the user journey from entry point to final interaction to uncover opportunities for improvement. Based on these insights, we redesigned the user experience, streamlined scheduling flows, and introduced new features.

Feature planning and analytics

As the product evolved, the team needed a structured way to prioritize new features and make decisions based on accurate product data.

Solution

Our team created a feature roadmap to keep development focused on the initiatives that added the most value for users.

We also reviewed the existing analytics setup and rebuilt the Google Analytics events map to ensure the app captured the right data for product decision-making.

As the product evolved, it became important to establish a technical foundation that would support future enhancements and simplify the development of similar scheduling applications.

Uptech contributed to the development of a container app with modular architecture and led the creation of a Calendar plugin composed of reusable modules. This approach accelerated feature development, reduced engineering effort, and provided a scalable foundation for expanding the product over time.
